DG Unlimited Launches Community Arts Fund

Do you have a great idea for an arts event in your local community?   Check out the GET INVOLVED GET INSPIRED fund.

DG Unlimited is a membership organisation which promotes and supports the creative industries across Dumfries and Galloway.  An independent charity with over 300 members, DGU aims to offer support and guidance to a wide range of creative people including artists, makers, performers, writers, musicians, cultural groups and poets, championing the arts and creativity in Dumfries and Galloway at a regional, national and international level.

Get Involved Get Inspired is aimed at supporting events and activities for the benefit of people in their local communities. We are hoping to support as many different kinds of cultural and community organisations to involve as many people as possible in all types of creative activity so please spread the word far and wide.

David McDonald, Arts Development Director said; “We’re delighted to be launching new funds for the region. Offering small pots of money with a six-week turnaround, we hope to be able to assist projects that are happening now across Dumfries and Galloway.”

The purpose of the Get Involved Get Inspired Fund is to support events and activities that offer greater opportunities for participation in high quality arts experiences for people who would not normally get involved, particularly the most vulnerable in our communities.  Activities can be one-off events or a series of workshops and they can take place in any setting from care homes to arts centres or high streets to farmers’ fields as long participants Get Involved and Get Inspired!

There is a total of £8,000 available in 2016/17 that will be equally distributed across the region’s four areas:
