Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival Announce The Dates For Their 10 Day Performing Arts Festival

Scotland’s largest rural performing arts festival is back in venues across the region for their 43rd annual 10 day Festival taking place from 20th – 29th May.

For 43 years, the Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival have brought world-class theatre, music, dance, comedy and spoken word to the heart of communities across the region. Their 10 day Festival is a celebration of local and national artists and they are delighted to announce the dates for their exciting programme of events that will be launched publicly on Wednesday 16th March.

The Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival are known for supporting people in some of Scotland’s most remote and rural areas to experience world-class performing arts. They bring the best of local and national work to communities, invest in performing arts and introduce young people to live performance with their imaginative programmes and this year is set to showcase their incredible programme with a show for everyone.

The Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival are building on their work in 2021 and have created an eclectic and exciting programme of work for their ten-day extravaganza that will offer something for everyone to enjoy in community halls, theatres, outdoors and online.

Their programme of work has increased performing arts opportunities across the region by supporting local artists and venues so that no-one need miss out on experiencing high quality performing arts on their doorstop through their Support for Ambition initiative and newly curated community events that are set to create a platform for local artists on the national stage.

This year, their programme offers a platform for local artists, and brings back award winning national artists to the region through new programming partnerships and varied line-ups.
