Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival Appoints Chief Executive Officer

The Board of Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival are pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Hart as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Simon Hart has over 25 years of experience as a CEO and artistic director in the performing arts sector and comes to Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival from his role as Director and Chief Executive at Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum & Arts Centre, Isle of North Uist.

On his appointment Simon said:

“As well as bringing leading artists to the region to share their work with committed and appreciative audiences, the Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival has such a strong track record of nurturing and celebrating great local talent. I’m looking forward very much to working with the festival’s staff and Board of trustees to continue the brilliant work they do each year in presenting such a vibrant cultural event which offers so much enjoyment and inspiration to local communities”.

Simon will take up his post in January 2023, and lead on delivering our ambitious goals, in supporting the arts and cultural sector to thrive within and beyond the borders of the region, contributing to artistic innovation, skills development, bringing and developing high-quality performing arts to those who live in and visit Dumfries & Galloway.
