Husband & Wife Team Launch ‘Gallery Sia Tri’ in Glentrool

Dave & Beth Currie will shortly open their own gallery at their home in Glentrool. The gallery, housed in a bright and airy log cabin in their garden, will showcase the couple’s artistic talents, as well as providing an outlet for them to sell their work.
Dave, of Galloway Photography, is a photographer who takes great joy in capturing the amazing beauty of Dumfries & Galloway. Living within the Dark Skies Park, Dave’s stunning camerawork captures images ranging from sparkling starscapes to the spectacular colours of the Aurora. His portfolio also includes mountain panoramas, magnificent landscapes and local wildlife.
Beth, of Red Squirrel Crafts, designs and makes hand crocheted jewellery which evokes a sense of wilderness, connecting the wearer to the earth. She creates organic, natural shapes in vibrant colours, using natural materials – cotton thread, semi-precious gemstones, sterling silver and copper. Her work is inspired by pagan traditions, the wheel of the year, the progression of the seasons, and the wild beauty of the landscape around her home.
The name “Gallery Sia Tri” comes from the gallery’s address at 63 Glentrool Village. “Sia Tri” is “six three” in Gaelic.
Dave & Beth plan to open their gallery on Wednesdays and Sundays, as well as at other times by appointment.
There will be an opening day at Gallery Sia Tri on Sunday March 20th, 12.00 – 5.00. Dave & Beth will be on hand to offer a warm welcome and to chat about their work. Visitors can enjoy complimentary tea, coffee and cake while browsing the gallery.
