This year team Opera Highlights is on a mission and are on their way to Stranraer (Ryan Centre) and Langholm (Buccleuch Centre), as part of their Scottish tour
Equipped with a piano, a suitcase full of music and a sense of adventure, the team are ready for a journey of operatic proportions. Four talented young singers and accomplished pianist are travelling the length and breadth of the country to bring you an unforgettable night at the opera.
This month sees them visit our region and they’ll be packing their bags full of props and costumes to stage an evening of music that will brighten even the darkest Autumn night.
There’s something for everyone – from opera first timers to seasoned fans. The programme includes favourites from Rossini’s Barber of Seville, Mozart’s Così fan tutte and Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Gondoliers alongside some lesser known gems rarely performed on the Scottish stage.

This year’s cast is full of fresh new talent including Scottish Opera Emerging Artist Alexey Gusev and three recent graduates of the National Opera Studio. Elizabeth Rowe is at the piano and Jack Furness (Opera Highlights 2016) directs.
