Morag From Kirkcowan to Tackle Galloway Recycle Sportive for Charity

On Saturday 11th August, Morag McKie from Kirkcowan, Dumfries and Galloway will compete in the Galloway Recycle Sportive (Kirkcudbright) to raise funds for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Ninewells Hospital, Dundee; the unit that saved her nephew’s life.

Morag’s nephew Fraser was exceptionally unwell when he was born and was quickly transferred to the NICU where he was given intensive care until his discharge. Several members of the neonatal team continue to care for Fraser, who is now eight months old.

To say thank you to the unit Morag decided to embarked on the Six Sportives Challenge with the aim of raising some much needed funds for the ward. The Galloway Recycle is sportive number five and also Morag’s Home race. Unfortunately Morag’s team mate Andy Gibb has had to bow out of the challenge with a broken ankle, however her two year old niece Mirren has stepped up to the plate and will complete a two mile sponsored walk to help take Morag’s total mileage to 200, whilst Andy cheers them along

Morag and her family would be delighted if you’d consider sponsoring her effort and help them to say thank you for the expert care Fraser received.

You can follow the challenge at Facebook – Fraser NICU Sportive.
