£10,000 Reward Offered After Dumfries Pensioners Attacked & Robbed In Their Own Home

The charity Crimestoppers is offering a cash reward for information after a Dumfries couple aged in their seventies were assaulted in their own home during a brutal robbery.

The attack took place during the early evening of Sunday 18 August 2019 when the owner noticed something suspicious outside. On opening the door, he was attacked by three people – two men and a woman – and knocked to the ground. He was assaulted again whilst demands were made for money.

Meanwhile, the victim’s wife had heard the commotion and as she investigated what was happening., she was also attacked during which further demands were made for money.

The suspects left the property with a substantial amount of cash and items of jewellery which were of sentimental value.
