95 YEAR OLD LOCAL MAN DIES AFTER A713 COLLISION

Police Scotland report that as a result of a one vehicle road traffic crash on the A713 road near to the entrance leading to Grennan, Dalry, Castle Douglas, a 95 year old man from Dalry, Castle Douglas, sustained injuries which proved fatal.

The man, later named as Norman Wolfenden, of Dalry was freed from the vehicle, a green coloured BMW, which crashed at around 1539 hours on Tuesday 31 May 2015, and was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he later died.  No other vehicle was involved in the crash.  A full crash scene investigation was carried out at the scene and the road was closed for a number of hours.   The Procurator Fiscal has been informed.
