James Robertson decided he wanted to do a good deed to celebrate his 75th birthday.
He decided to swim 200 lengths in Castle Douglas Pool to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
On Friday 7th October at his party a cheque for £3500 was handed over to Christine Irving (chairperson) of the local cancer committee along with Liz McCrae (committee member).
Since the party, the fund has now reached £3,800 and James would like people to know the fund is still running for anyone who would like to help.
Donations are welcome at Ranchers, Carlingwark Street, Castle Douglas.
James thanks, all who have donated to this worthwhile cause.
