Barbour Clothing is to celebrate its Galloway roots as platinum sponsor of the upcoming Tartan Day Parade in New York on 9 April
The company, which was founded by Galloway businessman John Barbour in 1884, has announced that Barbour Inc, the North American subsidary of the British clothing company, will take part in the high profile Tartan Day parade, with Westies and their owners parading in Barbour clothing.
Prior to the parade, Barbour will judge the Tartan Dog pack, made up of Scottish and West Highland White Terrier dogs, in five categories including “Best Westie Male,” “Best Westie Female,” “Best Scottie Male,” “Best Scottie Female,” and “Best Overall,” and award prizes to both dogs and their owners. Barbour will also provide 25 quilted tartan dog coats for the group as they strut up Sixth Avenue with their owners.
