Bus Crashes Into House – Dumfries

At about 4.00pm hours on Wednesday 28 December 2016 a three vehicle road traffic collision happened on Lockerbie Road in Dumfries.

Vehicles involved were a Stagecoach single decker bus being driven by a 49 year old man from Dumfries; a BMW Series 5 car being driven by a 63 year old man from Dumfries and a BMW Series 3 car which was parked at the locus. As a result of the collision all three vehicles were damaged and the bus came to rest against a property at 47 Lockerbie Road, Dumfries, which was extensively damaged as a result.

The driver of the bus and a 67 year old female passenger received bruising and soft tissue injuries as a result of the collision. There were eight passengers on the bus. The road at the locus was closed for around two hours to allow for recovery of the vehicles.

Constable Edward Mann at Dumfries said “we are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed this collision and would ask that they call Police Scotland at Dumfries on the 101 number if they can help.”
