POLICE in Dumfries are aware of current interest on social media around cable ties being placed in locations or on lamp posts indicating that a dog resides at that address and that the dog is going to be stolen.
A Police Spokes Person stated “To date we have had no reported thefts of dogs in the region and we are not aware of any current trends indicating people use this system to steal dogs.
We would obviously encourage dog owners to ensure, where possible, that their dog is not left unattended in a garden etc and to be vigilant for suspicious behaviour.
