POLICE INVESTIGATE SPATE OF CAR VANDALISM – STRANRAER

Police Scotland officers in Stranraer are investigating a spate of vandalism to cars which happened sometime overnight Friday 29/Saturday 30 April 2016 in the town. Cars in Glebe Street, King George Close, Hillside Drive, Lady Stewart Lane, London Road, Springfield Crescent, Sun Street and Ochtralure Way had tyres damaged. A total of eight cars and a van suffered damage. A total of 15 tyres were damaged and some cars received damage to the body work. Early estimates indicate that the damage will run into many hundreds of pounds.

Constable Jackson Service said “we are presently conducting door to door enquiries in the streets affected in the hope that someone has seen something. This is a horrific case of wanton vandalism which will cost a lot of people a lot of money and associated inconvenience and we are keen to hear from anyone who can help us catch those responsible. Anyone who has any information which might assist us should call us at Stranraer on 101.”
