Police Investigate As Cash Stolen From Wardrobe – Dumfries

POLICE SCOTLAND are appealing for witnesses after a report of a theft by housebreaking in Syme Road, Dumfries, which occurred on Tuesday 4th February.

A police spokesperson stated that “The reporter of the crime put money in an envelope and placed it inside his wardrobe within his bedroom before leaving the house. His friend was visiting and stayed in the reporter’s house whilst he went out.
About 6.05 pm, the reporter’s friend heard the sound of glass smashing. On going to investigate, he found the double pane window within the bedroom, to be smashed.
There was nobody in the house and nobody seen running away.
A short time later the reporter returned home where he was told what happened. On checking his property he discovered the envelope containing money to be missing from his wardrobe.
