Local Emergency and Recue teams including Annan Coastguard and Nith Inshore Rescue were paged by CGOC Belfast Coastguard last night (May the 3rd) at 9.00pm and tasked to the River Nith at the Whitesands area in Dumfries after reports that persons were entering the water to recover a craft below the caul.
It is reported that a man fell out of his kayak in the River Nith and had to be rescued by passing rowers’ The team’s were stood down as the craft was recovered.
