Local MSP Pledges Continued Investment In Regional Path Network

South of Scotland MSP Colin Smyth has pledged to walk more and to encourage investment in the path network in Dumfries and Galloway.

At an event hosted by Scottish walking charity Paths for All at the Scottish Parliament on Thursday (January 23), Colin Smyth also promised to champion walking in the region.
Paths for All asked MSPs to make a pledge about how they can promote everyday walking in their constituency. The charity’s mission is for a happier, healthier, greener Scotland for all.

Colin Smyth said: “Walking is hugely important both for health and for the environment, and I support Paths for All’s mission.
“I have pledged to lead by example and try to walk more, as well as promoting the amazing network of paths we have here in Dumfries and Galloway. We are fortunate to live in a region of outstanding local beauty, however, we must keep pushing for more investment in the path network in the region and I will continue to address the Scottish Government on this issue.”
