DG College Art & Design Students Benefit From Hollywood Trust Grant

The Holywood Trust has awarded a generous grant to HND Art & Design students at Dumfries and Galloway College.

Claire Hannah from the trust recently presented a £1000 cheque to the students which will contribute to the cost of hosting their end of year annual exhibition.

The money will help to pay for materials for the exhibition such as framing and will also enable them to host workshops throughout the course of the exhibition.

This year’s exhibition is titled Pathway and represents the culmination of the students’ hard work and learning accrued over the course of their studies.

Following a preview night on Friday 1 May, Pathway will run between 2-9th May 2020 with the additional workshops, also paid for from the granted money, being held at the Gracefield Arts Centre.

The Holywood Trust is a charitable organisation which aims to help young people in Dumfries and Galloway.

Dumfries and Galloway College is proud to partner with the organisation which gives grants to individuals and organisations and creates opportunities for young people in the region.

Principal Joanna Campbell said:

“We’re most grateful to the Holywood Trust for their kind grant and their continued support of Dumfries and Galloway College students.

“Their organisation has made it possible for this wonderful exhibit to happen and we’re delighted to continue to work with them.

“The Holywood Trust should be proud of the real and lasting impact they have on our region and on the lives of each of the students they work with.”
