D&G College Launches New Public Services Course

A brand-new course in public services has been launched at Dumfries and Galloway College.

 

Staff from the army, police, and fire service visited the college to meet with Principal Joanna Campbell as the course opens for applications.

 

Students on the programme will be guided by experienced staff as they explore the many options contained in a career in public service.

 

Firefighters, police officers, and army personnel will also meet with students to provide them with real-life experience and training throughout the programme.

 

Studying public services at Dumfries and Galloway College will allow students to increase their confidence through a variety of practical and theory activities and gain valuable skills.

 

Among the wide range of modules contained in the new course are leadership skills, teambuilding, mental health, and health, physical fitness, and wellbeing.

 

The public services course will run for 12 weeks beginning on 25 August 2022.

 

Applications for this exciting new course which will enable students to take their first steps into employment in public service can be made on the Dumfries and Galloway College website.

 

Upon successful completion, students will be able to move onto further study or careers in services such as the RAF, prison service, police, or RSPCA.
