Annette’s Baking in a box (the box being my smallish kitchen ) was set up after having my two children. I worked at Barnbarroch pottery for over 20 years and I wanted to still be creative, but fit around family life.
My aim is to provide a range of cakes and savouries that are varied and unique but always with a personal touch. I was brought up on our family farm and have always lived in this wonderful Part of the Scotland .
Community is very important, it is great we have so much variety of food and craft in this area . Local Farmers and producers markets provide a showcase for such businesses.I am one of the organisers of the Colvend produce and makers market which runs every fourth Saturday of the month, our last one of the year is on 22 November.
I love meeting and talking to people and these markets and others such as ‘The Artisans ‘and ‘Lady Magpie ‘ gives me a chance to meet and talk with my customers.
At the moment Christmas cakes are taking over my kitchen but anyone is welcome to order at any time from bespoke chocolate ganache cakes to sweet and savoury pastries for parties .
