Drumlanrig Castle Offers Funding Support to Local Causes

Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate is showing its community spirit by announcing its community bursary funding support for 2017 in a bid to help local charities and organisations.

The initiative, will give away £1,000 in small donations of up to £200 to community groups across Nithsdale and Upper Nithsdale who are in need of a financial boost.

Local organisations that have benefited from the bursary in previous years include Upper Nithsdale Football Club and Young Saints Rugby Club who both received new strips.

Claire Oram, Castle Manager at Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate, said: “We are delighted to open applications once again for our community bursary fund.

“We welcome applications from groups of all specialties and sizes in the local area. Whether the money would be put towards a community garden or sports kits for a local club, we would love to hear from you.

“The team here have made the application process very simple to make things as straightforward as possible for those making submissions.

“We’re really looking forward to assisting even more groups that truly benefit the local community. The Castle and Estate put a lot of emphasis on engaging with the community throughout the year so we hope this fund will help do some good in the area.”
