DUMFRIES AND GALLOWAY COUNCIL IMPROVING SERVICES FOR THE PEOPLE OF LANGHOLM

Dumfries and Galloway Council is improving our services to the public by bringing together the Customer Service Centre, Library and Registration office in Langholm.
In order to enable us to do this we are completing works within Langholm Town Hall to relocate the Library into the old Exhibition room.
The existing library will close its doors on Saturday 6 June. For one week only there will be a reduced library service provision in Langholm from Monday 8 – Friday 12 June. During this time a mobile library will be present in Parliament Square behind the Town Hall. The mobile library will be available as follows:
• Monday 8 June – 10am – 3.30pm
• Thursday 11 June – 10am – 3.30pm
From Saturday 13 June 2015 at 9am, the following services will be available at Langholm Town hall:
• Library services book lending, local history and genealogy services and free access to computers and the internet.
• Customer services benefit and council tax enquiries, council information and reporting of faults.
• Registration services registration of births, deaths and marriages and conducting of civil marriages, civil partnership and citizenship ceremonies.

Chair of Community and Customer Services Committee, Councillor Tom McAughtrie, said,
“We are creating a facility within Langholm Town Hall that will be fit for purpose and will have access to a wide range of information and services under one roof. These continue to be delivered by helpful and knowledgeable staff to assist with your enquiries.”
