DUMFRIES MAN SET TO ‘GAME’ FOR 24hrs FOR MACMILLAN CANCER SUPPORT

DGWGO were recently contacted by Barry Chambers from Dumfries , who lost his grandfather in a battle with cancer, Barry wants to help make a difference in his own way, and has decided to do a sponsored 24hr Gaming session to raise money for his chosen charity.

Barry told DGWGO ” I’m organising a 24 hour gaming marathon for Macmillan cancer support. It will run from Sunday 29th may 1pm through to the 30th. Over 2 years 4 of my family members were diagnosed with cancer this horrible disease.

A year ago my papa sadly lost his life he had at least 3 different types of cancer  which he fought for over a year. He was definitely a character never lost his sense of humour even right up to the end’ we love and miss him dearly.

The amount my family has been through makes me proud to call them just that “family”. I’ve always wanted to do something raise  money for this cause but I just didn’t know what to do, then i spotted this thing on Facebook ‘Game Changer’, now anyone who knows me knows I love gaming but I’ve never played for 24 hours straight. The most I’ve ever played is probably about 9 hours solid.”

Barry has set up a just giving page and any donation would be deeply appreciated https://www.justgiving.com/barry-chambers-gamechangers?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=fundraisingpage&utm_content=barry-chambers-gamechangers&utm_campaign=pfp-share
