Dumfries To Mark 70th Anniversary Of Hiroshima And Nagasaki

70th Anniversary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki Saturday August 8th Allanton Peace Prayer Society and the Dumfries and Galloway chapter of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament will join millions of people from around the world to mark the 70th Anniversary of the use of atomic weapons at Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

We will have information stalls at YouthBeats at Dock Park and also on the High Street from 12 noon.

Following that we will proceed to the Dumfries Museum where we will plant a Peace Pole along with messages of peace and hope in the museum garden.

All are welcome to join this free, family-friendly event. Event details: Meet at Suspension Bridge/Whitesands Saturday 8th August 3:30pm for a short walk to the museum garden. Ceremony will commence at 4:00pm.
