Officers are carrying out door to door enquiries in Ecclefechan after the home of a 94 year old woman in the village was broken into. Sometime around 2.30pm on Tuesday 30 January 2018 the woman awoke to find a tall, slim built male in her home in Castle Acre. The male left the property without taking anything and the matter was later reported to the police. It transpires that the house had been broken-into.
Constable George Clark said ” We are appealing for anyone in the village who may have any knowledge of this crime to get in touch with us on the 101 number, quoting PDG0022420118. Understandably the elderly woman was shaken by this incident and it seems that the male responsible was brazen enough to carry out this type of crime in broad daylight.”
