Chief Executive of The Crichton Trust ‘Thrilled’ About Future of Crichton Hall

With yesterdays breaking news of Crichton Hall being sold to the owners of the Fonab Castle Hotel in Pitlochry and their plans to create a destination hotel and spa here at The Crichton Gwilym Gibbons, Chief Executive of The Crichton has announced they are looking forward to building a strong partnership with their new neighbours at The Crichton Hall Hotel.

The Crichton Trust is delighted to receive confirmation that the historic and beautiful Crichton Hall property is to be carefully and respectfully redeveloped into a five-star hotel and spa. This new attraction and destination on The Crichton will greatly enhance and complement the already thriving community of business, learning and recreation that we all enjoy here.

The 85-acres of beautifully landscaped grounds and gardens at The Crichton are managed by The Crichton Trust and will continue to be free for everyone to enjoy throughout the year.

A new hotel of this calibre in the region, combined with the existing facilities including Easterbrook Hall and the Crichton Memorial Church brings a world class offering for weddings, functions, conferences, tourism and hospitality to The Crichton and to the South of Scotland.

We are already very fortunate to have the Holiday Inn Hotel located within our 85-acre estate, which means together we can offer more choice to customers when it comes to accommodation, weddings, meetings, conferences, events and dining experiences at The Crichton.  It is hoped that the new hotel will also help attract some of the best performing artists in the UK and beyond to use Easterbrook Hall as the ideal performance and rehearsal venue for UK and European tours.

Gwilym Gibbons, Chief Executive of The Crichton Trust said: “We are thrilled to hear the news that a new future and life has been secured for Crichton Hall. This very special building forms a key part of the history and design of The Crichton Estate. It is fantastic that it will have a new life and will provide additional services for the local community and visitors to enjoy and I’m sure it will also be well received by the 70+ businesses and the college and universities sharing The Crichton as their home. It forms the final piece of the jigsaw which complements our existing entertainment, conference, leisure, hospitality and function facilities, which combined with our glorious gardens and parkland will take us a step closer to making The Crichton the destination of choice in the South of Scotland to do business, learn, play, get married and relax.  We are looking forward to sharing our gardens with our new neighbours and building a strong partnership with The Crichton Hall Hotel.”
