Just 1 Week Left to Sign the ‘Dual The A75’ Online Petition

Today marks one week until our petition on the Scottish Government website closes. We currently have over 1100 signatures which is a fantastic achievement for all involved.

Local MSP Joan McAlpine and constituency MSP Oliver Mundell are supporting the campaign and are encouraging everyone who feels strongly about dualling the A75, to sign the petition.

It is vital that there is cross region support as the A75 stretches across two political constituencies, therefore MP Richard Arkless’ support is also welcomed.

However, there is still work to be done. Talks are being held with Humza Yousaf, Scotland’s Minister for Transport and Islands, with the intentions of holding a meeting between him and our campaigners.

Press Release from the Dual the A75 Team

With this in mind, the petition will then be presented to the Petition Committee at the Scottish Parliament where it will be considered for Parliamentary progression.

Campaigners are still actively seeking new supporters to get behind this campaign, even so close to the closing of the petition.

Upgrading the A75 is vital for the local economy, transport links, connecting the new Dumfries and Galloway Infirmary at the Garroch roundabout, to the main road in the region, increased safety, tourism and business growth.

If you support this, please sign the petition to ensure a wide ranging voice is heard loud and clear.
