Langholm Man Attacked On His Own Doorstep

Police officers in Langholm are carrying out enquiries including door to door in relation to an assault which took place in the early hours of Sunday 12 November 2017.

About 0455 hours that morning a 22 year old man was assaulted after answering the door at his home in Station Buildings in the town.

The man was confronted by four men, who without any explanation began assaulting him and punched him about the head and body. The victim managed to close the door on the four men and thereafter alerted the police. As a result of this attack, the victim suffered two black eyes and cuts and bruising to his face and body.

Constable Anthony Pallent said “we are unsure as to the motive for this vicious and sustained attack on the victim at the front door to his home.

We know that four men were present, and have the following descriptions; (1) about 6′ tall, podgy build, mid to late 30s, light brown hair cut short, goatee beard and was wearing a black waterproof jacket which had a white logo o the front and dark jeans: (2) again about 6′ tall, skinny/slim build, sharp facial features, light brown/blonde hair, in his late 20s/early 30s, and was wearing a grey/white hooded top with the hood up: the third and fourth males are only described as being in their 30s and were wearing hooded tops. I would ask that anyone who might be able to help in this investigation to call us on the 101 number, or if they want to remain anonymous then through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
