About 5.50pm on Wednesday 22 November 2017 a one vehicle road traffic collision involving a 41 ton crane happened on the A7 road just south of Skippers Bridge, Langholm.
The crane has partially left the road and is currently trapped in the road barrier. The driver was uninjured. Recovery of the vehicle will take place today (Thursday) and the road is expected to be closed around 10.00 am for a good part of the day to allow for recovery. Signed diversions will be put in place.
Sergeant Billy Broatch of the Trunk Roads Policing Unit said “I would urge drivers to avoid this area where possible and to consider carefully their journey if it involves this part of the A7. Diversions will be in place however congestion is expected which will cause delays in journey times.”
