LINCLUDEN COMMUNITY ENJOYS AN AFTERNOON OF SUNSHINE,PACKED FULL OF FUN

Sunshine brought youngsters, families and friends out to enjoy a free community event at North West Resource Centre, Lincluden on Saturday 18 April.
1 a 1 a funday 1The afternoon was a roaring success, made possible by partnership working with Dumfries and Galloway Council, ‘Our Place 2’, Building Healthy Communities and a local residents group, with over 400 people turning out to enjoy themselves.
The event was packed full of activities for people to participate in, including bouncy castles, games, children’s entertainers, dancers, drummers, arts and crafts, the Scottish Fire and Rescue 1 a 1 a funday 3Service, Police Scotland, the Royal Navy, and much more.
Families and communities come together while having fun. The event also gave children an opportunity to try new activities. Feedback from the day was really positive, with one resident saying;
“We need more days like this. These sort of days bring communities together.”
Councillor Tom McAughtrie, Chair of the Community and Customer Services Committee said:
“Events like these truly bring out the best in our communities. They demonstrate how well people of all ages and backgrounds can come together to enjoy themselves.”
