The Stunning Loch Etrrick, Closeburn near Thornhill Dumfries and Galloway has recently gone on the market at a guide price of £45,000.

A spokes person from G M Thomson & Co who are handling the sale stated ” This is a rare opportunity to purchase a fishing loch in an idyllic location within Dumfries and Galloway. The total area being offered for sale is 10.10 ha (24.95 acres) which includes the loch itself which has a water surface area of around 7.5ha (18.53 acres) and also two smaller ponds
The loch has an earth embankment dam of around 224m long and 7m high and comprises two straight lengths with a bend at 150m from the left (South) end. The water surface area is 7.5ha (18.53 acres) and has an impounded capacity recorded as 55,000m3. There is an overflow outlet pipe at the right (North) end of the dam which discharges to an outlet ditch leading to the outlet burn. The loch provides water supply to a few local properties and has until recently been used for angling. There are two small ponds located to the North West of the area which are surrounded by broadleaved trees and there is a boat house situated at the North Western corner of the loch. 
The sale includes fixtures and fittings and fish stocks within the loch. G M Thomson & Co are not liable in any way for the quality or quantity of the fish stocks, nor any death or disease that may affect such stocks. Purchasers must satisfy themselves as to the quality and quantity of the fish stocks prior to purchase.
The loch is located 7 miles from Thornhill (15 mins drive) and just 15 miles (30 mins drive) from junction 16 of the M74, making it easily accessible for those travelling from the central belt of Scotland, as well as those South of the border. It is situated towards the Eastern edge of Ae Forest which is popular with walkers and mountain bikers alike.
