MANS BODY FOUND FLOATING IN DUMFRIES RIVER IDENTIFIED

Dumfries and Galloway Police have formally identified a man whose body was recovered from the River Nith in Dumfries on Tuesday morning.

The body of Robert Fergusson, 87, of Church Street, Dumfries was recovered near St Michale’s Bridge after being spotted by members of the public.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and the procurator fiscal had been informed.
