Police Scotland has announced that a joint fire investigation will take place after the body of a man was found within the remains of a house that went on fire in Dumfries yesterday Wednesday 3 January 2018.
The fire was discovered at a house in Bruce Dewar Meuse in Dumfries at 4.15pm yesterday. Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished by the Fire and Rescue Service. The body of a man was discovered within the house and he was pronounced dead at the scene. A joint fire investigation will take place on Thursday 4 January 2018 to establish the cause of the fire. The Procurator Fiscal has been informed.
