MANS JAW BROKEN DURING ASSAULT – DUMFRIES

POLICE OFFICERS are looking for witnesses to a serious assault that occurred in Brewery Street, in Dumfries around 8pm on Thursday 27th September 2018.

The victim suffered a broken jaw in the attack and subsequently required surgery.

The attacker is described as early 20’s, short dark hair, wearing a black t-shirt with ‘Nike’ written in white on the front. He was also wearing blue jeans and may have been wearing a black jacket.

The victim, who is in his early 50’s, is described as heavy build and was wearing a red t-shirt and lightweight khaki jacket.

Detective Constable Scott Ruddick of the Dumfries CID said “I know its several weeks since this happened, however, we believe a number of people who were in the area stopped and spoke to the victim to check he was OK after the attack. I want to speak to these people. It was the same weekend the fair was in town.
We have been reviewing CCTV and are following positive lines of enquiry, however, anyone that can assist should contact Police Scotland on 101.
