This Friday Masterchef winner Gary Maclean will join Creative Futures Lincluden + Lochside and partners to celebrate the launch of the NW Dumfries Summer Programme with a day of activities and fun for all of the community. Families are invited along to the Summerhill Community Centre from 11am where they can pick up their copy of the ‘Creative Times Summer Programme’ and find out more about the activities and events that will be happening across Summerhill, Sandside, Lochside and Lincluden over the summer – and enjoy the fun!
Creative Development Worker for Creative Futures, Lee McQueen, commented: “We’re all really excited about the launch of the Summer Programme, and we hope everyone from the community of North West Dumfries will come along on Friday to celebrate with us. We’ve got a special food themed day planned, with lots of activities, food tasting and a talk from Gary Maclean.”
Activities will begin at 11am with ‘Pimp Your Mocktail’ followed by a welcome from the team at Creative Futures. At 11.30am, members of the community are invited to participate in various food games, followed by a talk from Scotland’s National Chef and winner of Masterchef, Gary Maclean. This is a great opportunity to hear more about Gary’s career as a professional chef, his experience on Masterchef and gain some recipe inspiration! Then at 1pm, there will be food demonstrations from volunteers until 2.30pm. Summerhill Community Centre will also be providing food and refreshments for all at 12.10pm.
Everyone is welcome to stop by the Summerhill Community Centre at any time between 11am and 3pm and pick up a summer programme and take part in any of the events.
