Morag McKie aged 25 from Kirkcowan recently took part in (13th of August) Kirkcudbrightshire’s Galloway ReCycle Sportive event . The event saw Morag cycling a 30 mile route in the area to raise money for Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland.
Morag told DGWGO ” All went well on the day and the rain managed to stay behind the clouds. My grand total raised for Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland was £538.50. This was in memory of my late Granny Joyce who I am sure would be so proud as I only had one week to fundraise and to raise such a great amount is amazing. I am extremely grateful to those who kindly donated to help such an amazing cause that has impacted my close family and friends, so thank you all so much. ”
She went on to say “It was a privilege to support Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland and I am sure the money raised will be put to good use in helping those in need. A special mention to my Grandparents Alex and Joan (Whitelaw) who played a big part in helping me fundraise and to Kirkcudbright’s Rotary Club for organising such a great event.” “
