MORE than 60 per cent of the region’s adult population have received their first COVID-19 vaccination.
And coming on for 10 per cent have received their second, as the programme continues to make good progress during a period of more limited national supplies.
As at end of March 23 2021 a total of 74,948 first dose vaccinations had been delivered, representing 62 per cent of people aged 16 and above.
A total of 10,446 second dose vaccinations have been delivered, which is 8.2 per cent of the adult population and takes the total number of vaccinations to 85,394.
Work has been taking place to vaccinate those in ‘at-risk groups’ aged 16 and above, people aged 50 and above and unpaid Carers.
Arrangements have been put in place in anticipation of increased vaccine stocks, scaling up arrangements to reflect that first doses are being provided to some of our biggest cohorts while second doses are being delivered.
Information on vaccinations is available through the national helpline, which can be phoned between 8 am and 8 pm seven days a week on 0800 030 8013.
