Newton Stewart One Of the Top Ten Riverside Destinations in the UK

New data from HolidayLettings.co.uk, a TripAdvisor company, reveals Newton Stewart in Dumfries and Galloway, Southwest Scotland is among the UK’s ten best-rated riverside holiday destinations.

Newton Stewart is described in the list as –

This small market town on the banks of the River Cree was named after its founder, William Stewart, son of the Earl of Galloway. Analysing ratings and reviews, the holiday rentals site found that Newton Stewart ranked among the UK’s best-rated riverside destinations, with an average rental review score of 4.906 (out of 5.00).

In a blog post, Holiday Lettings notes Newton Stewart is “famous for its fantastic salmon and trout fishing,” making it an ideal destination for holidaymakers seeking a relaxing fishing break.

The town is “also a firm favourite for hill-walkers and mountain-bikers,” the blog continues, “as the nearby Galloway Forest Park has some of the most stunning scenery in the south of Scotland.”
