If you have been in Dumfries and Galloway over the last few days, you may of spotted 61 year old environmental campaigner Martin Hutchinson and his faithful dog Starsky on their bicycle made for 2.
Martin is originally from Manchester and has been travelling since 2004, he started off in a yacht, which sadly sank of the coast of South Africa in 2006. Martin then restarted his journey in Mexico and over 10 years he walked 34.000km across 21 countries in Central America and South America, and whilst travelling he gave talks, in over 600 Schools about the environmental issues he was seeing first hand He arrived back in the UK on the 8th of May 2016.
On May 31st 2016 Martin left Manchester once again, going on recumbent trike to Australia, Martin found Starsky his faithful dog in Portugal, who has been travelling with Martin ever since and together they did 36.000km around 16 European countries and talked at 175 more schools. But sadly the pair were locked down in Italy during Covid and they had to come back to the UK.
Since then Starsky and Hutch as the dynamic duo have become affectionally known, have travelled all over Scotland going around highlighting what other people are doing for the environment, they are currently travelling through Dumfries and Galloway (They are in Dalbeattie today) whilst on their way to Wales to C.A.T .
