Scotland TranServ, on behalf of Transport Scotland will carry out routine resurfacing of the A75 at Ramhill east of Castle Douglas From 30th of September for 5 nights.

In order to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible, it will be necessary to implement a series of five overnight road closures starting from Sunday 30th September.

Michael Pagan, Scotland TranServ’s Network Area Manager for Dumfries & Galloway said:

“This is an important programme of work, which has been scheduled in consultation with local authorities, emergency services and key stakeholders. We are making every effort to keep disruption to local communities and businesses to an absolute minimum while this project is undertaken.
“Following a prolonged winter, with repeated freeze-thaw cycles the surface of the carriageway deteriorated. We have worked to schedule the programme for outwith the busy summer and school holiday periods. Access will be maintained throughout for emergency service vehicles.”

Works will be carried out during the following times:

  • 7pm Sunday 30th Sept to 6am Monday 1st October
  • 7pm Monday 1st to 6am Tuesday 2nd October
  • 7pm Tuesday 2nd to 6am Wednesday 3rd October
