Police Probe Handbag Theft – Dumfries

Police Scotland officers are currently investigating the theft of a handbag from a vehicle in Dumfries.

About 1520 hours on Monday 23rd January 2017, Police were called to King George V Park, College Road, Dumfries to reports a car had been broken into and a black handbag stolen.

Constable Cameron Pagan at Dumfries said “we are keen to speak to anyone that was in the area around this time who may have seen anything suspicious and we are particularly keen to speak to the occupants of a white van that was seen in the car park at the time. I would also like to take this opportunity to remind the public that taking small measures such as keeping valuables out of view, can prevent this type of opportunist crime from taking place. Anyone with information can contact me at Dumfries on the 101 number”.
