Police Still Searching For 58 Year Old Missing Moffat Man

Missing man – Stephen Talbot – Moffat.

Police Scotland is continuing the search for 58 year old Stephen Talbot from Wamphray, Moffat, who went missing on a camping trip to Garrogill, Moffat on Monday 6 July 2015. The search is currently concentrated on the Garrogill and surrounding area and members of the Moffat and Galloway Mountain Rescue Teams, along with Police Scotland MRT officers have been involved. The Force helicopter has assisted in the search.

Area Commander and Search Manager Inspector Gordon McKnight said “as time goes on the concerns for the welfare and safety of Mr Talbot grow. We have carried out intensive searches of the area this week, in what I would describe as fairly challenging terrain due to the current state of the summer growth of vegetation in the area. The search continues and will do so over the weekend with the invaluable assistance and support of the mountain rescue personnel. At this stage there are no indications, or indeed sightings which lead us to think that Mr Talbot is not still in the area where we are concentrating our searches. If, however, anyone can help us in our enquiries which would indicate otherwise, then we would welcome that call on 101.”
