Police Scotland report that searches continued today, Wednesday 8 February 2017 for the missing man who fell into the River Nith in Dumfries on Sunday 5 February 2017.
Members of the Police Scotland Underwater Unit attended and searched areas in and around a part of the River Nith above the caul in the centre of Dumfries.
Inspector Nicola Robison of Police Scotland said “the searches today have not found any trace of Mr Cowie. Further searches of the river downstream from Dumfries, towards the Solway Estuary are due to take place this evening involving the Coastguard and Nith Inshore Rescue Service.
