HM Coastguard Kirkcudbright Search and Rescue have today issued a further warning about Quick sand problems at the Dhoon Beach, after a family became stuck there last week.
A spokesperson for the Kirkcudbright HM Coastgaurd team stated ” To all members of the public who go walking on the sands and mud flats at the Dhoon, Kirkcudbright. There is a large area of quick sand that has been discovered just past the wreck on the right hand side known as Goat Well where a family got stuck last week.
We have been out investigating the area this morning, the sand is extremely soft and in excess of 6ft deep anyone walking into that location will get stuck!!
Please exercise caution in this area and if in any doubt DIAL 999 and ask for Coastguard.”
