The 2017 Sanquhar Riding of the Marches kicked off on this year with the Installation of Principals at the Tolbooth, Cornet Murray Grierson, Cornet’s Lass Ashley Cook and Ensign Fiona Thomson on Friday 11th August.
On Sunday 13th August there was a procession to War Memorial with a laying of a Wreath by The 2017 Principlas this was followed by the Kirking of the Cornet at St. Brides Church and a ride Out around the town by the Troopers Club. Then at 3.30pm there was the traditional Breaking Out of the Cornets Flag at Matthews Folly.
