5 Children Injured In School Bus Crash – Clatteringshaws

At around 11:30 am today (Thursday 8 June 2017), Police received a report of a double decker bus transporting School Children from Glasgow, who were carrying out an outward bounds part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award, having crashed near to Clatteringshaws, New Galloway.

Emergency Services have attended the scene dealing with the incident. The bus had 65 school pupils and adults on-board at the time of the incident. One 16 year old girl was conveyed to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary with minor injuries and four others were treated at the scene, again for minor injuries. No one else was injuried.

Arrangements are being made for the recovery of the bus and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the crash.

The bus and pupils were from the Glasgow area and the school involved has informed the parents of the incident. #DGRoads
