An investigation has been launched following the suspicious death of a woman in Carrutherstown.
About 0603 hours on Friday 22 December 2017, police received a report of a male having been found injured near to Carrutherstown Village. Emergency services attended and a further injured male was found nearby. Both men were taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary.
At that time a 52 year old woman was pronounced dead within a nearby property.
The Police investigation is still ongoing and officers remain at the scene.
