Police Probe Series of Suspicious Fires on Banks of River Kirtle

Police Scotland officers in Gretna are investigating a series of fires on the banks of the River Kirtle near to Old Graitney Road  which happened at around 2130 hours on Sunday 12 June 2016.  Three people were seen in the area of the three fires around this time, one of who had a bicycle.  All three were males,  between 15 and 18 years of age, and were later seen walking along Old Graitney Road.  The Fire and rescue Service were contacted and attended to the fires.

Constable Ewan Fraser at Gretna said “we want people to report any suspicious incidents like this at the time.  On this occasion were contacted by witnesses who were able to describe what they saw and as a result we are now following a positive line of enquiry.  Anyone who was in the area of old Graitney Road on Sunday evening, or who can help us identify those responsible should call us at Gretna on 101.”
