Telecare Campaign Supports Independent Living

Telecare supports people of all ages to live safe and independent lives in their own home and the Council has launched a local radio campaign to publicise this.

So, if your health or mobility has recently deteriorated or you’ve experienced a loss in confidence or increased anxiety, you can call Telecare.

Telecare has a 24 hour phone link to a local centre, providing reassurance for users and peace of mind to families and support networks.

If you want to find out more about Telecare, phone 030 33 33 3001.

The Council’s Communities and Social Work Services departments are working together to deliver the Telecare service.

Councillor Tom McAughtrie, chairman of the Communities committee, said: “Protecting our most vulnerable people is a priority for our council. Telecare is an excellent service that enables people to remain living in their own homes, while providing reassurance to them and their families. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, help is at the end of a phone line.”
