Theft of scaffolding – Langholm

Police Scotland is carrying out enquiries into the theft of about £5000 worth of scaffolding from the A7 road at Skippers Bridge in Langholm. The scaffolding had been used in the recent repairs to the bridge and had been dismantled awaiting removal by the company. Sometime around 1820 hours on Wednesday 22 February 2017 it is believed that two men were seen loading scaffolding onto a long wheel base dropside lorry which had a white cab, and was parked at the side of the road in the near darkness. No lights were illuminated on the vehicle at the time and no flashing amber warning lights were displayed.

Constable Anthony Pallent said “we want to hear from anyone who may have passed through the Skippers Bridge on the A7 at Langholm on Wednesday evening to help us identify those seen loading scaffolding onto this lorry. Anyone who can help should call us at Langholm on the 101 number.”
