Ward Event for Annandale South – Thursday 7 February

The first Ward Event in Annandale South will be held on Thursday 7 February in Annan Town Hall from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

Ward Events are organised by our Council to allow local residents to engage with their local Councillors on issues that affect them. This event will provide local people with a better understanding of the road repair process by explaining what happens after a repair has been reported, including how it’s prioritised and inspected. The evening will be chaired by Annandale South Councillor Richard Brodie.

SUSTRANS funding for cycle routes and footpaths will also be discussed. Local people who attend will be able to explore these issues with Ward Councilors and staff from Dumfries and Galloway Council and receive information from SUSTRANS.

Councillor Andy Ferguson, Chair of Communities Committee said,

“Ward Events provide an excellent opportunity for local people to speak directly with Councillors, staff from the Council and staff from other organisations about the issues that are important to them”.

Councillor John Martin, who is Vice-Chair of the Communities Committee added;

“I warmly invite the people of Annandale South to come along as it’s through shared knowledge and constructive dialogue that, together, we can make our communities better places to live.”
